Feast of the Immaculate Conception

The Immaculate Conception refers to the condition that the Blessed Virgin Mary was free from original sin from the very moment of her conception in the womb of her mother, Saint Anne. God had sanctified Mary at the moment of her conception in His foreknowledge that the Blessed Virgin would consent to bear the Christ.

On Sunday, December 8, 2019, our parish will celebrate the Solemnity of our Patroness, Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception. This holy day will be commemorated by our congregation coming together to build community with the sale of homemade food, with wonderful entertainment, and with fun activities for the entire family.

Our Stewardship Ministry has assembled a committee of five parishioners to chair the 2019 fundraiser. Maria Aldaz, Edwina Kiro, Patricia Moya, Amanda Navarro, and Kathy Tafoya have graciously accepted the task of organizing and implementing this event. Raffle tickets will go on sale at the end of this month, the drawing of the winning tickets will take place at our December 8th celebration. The tickets will sell for $2 each or $20 for a book of ten. Prizes are as follows:

1st Prize: $500
2nd Prize: $250
3rd Prize: $150
4th Prize: $100

There will also be a silent auction. If you would like to contribute items for the auction, please contact the parish office.

Auction items include:

-A Large Screen Television
-Estate Planning Packages (will, advanced directive, and Power of Attorney prepared by a licensed attorney)

And...there will be bingo!

In the coming weeks we will be contacting each registered family to request your assistance in buying/selling tickets. This is our only fundraiser for 2019, with 100% of the proceeds going to the Immaculate Conception Anniversary Rejuvenation Project. Raffle tickets will also be available through the parish office during regular business hours. Tickets will also be sold in the vestibule after all of the Masses. The committee members will regularly keep us updated on this fundraiser. If you are called upon to be of assistance for this event, please say “Yes”, as it will take all of us to make it a success.

Your financial support, the giving of your valuable time, and your prayers ensure the success of this celebration. Peace and blessings to each and every one of you!

O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee!

Parish Mission Statement

We are a diverse community, a Jesuit parish in downtown Albuquerque. Rooted in Ignatian spirituality, we are committed to the service of faith and the promotion of justice. We gather at Eucharist to probe the Scriptures and to be nourished by Christ's Body. Moved by the Holy Spirit, we continue our mission of loving and serving God and neighbor. In our words and actions, we labor with Christ, crucified and resurrected, to respond to our brothers' and sisters' spiritual, emotional, physical, and educational needs so as to joyfully build up God's Kingdom.
